I have a column this morning on Bobby Robins’ long road to the NHL, and I kind of like this one, so it’s getting shared here, too.
Also, hockey players are, in my experience, a pretty polite, helpful bunch. The first thing I noticed the first time I got to cover a Bruins game was how nice and polite guys like Mike Knuble, Nick Boynton and Brian Rolston were to terrified writers in over their heads. This carries on today with Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara and the rest of them.
I’ve only been in the same room as him once, but Bobby Robins is already one of the nicer dudes I’ve seen. Everything I’ve heard about him is that he’s one of the best guys around the game, and there’s nothing I saw that disproves that.
